About the Event
Marvonnay & Mango Bay are introducing Beyond the Pour, a monthly wine and dining series held one Wednesday each month, designed to explore the intersection of Afro-Caribbean cuisine, wine pairing, and cultural storytelling—an area that remains largely underrepresented in traditional wine education.
Each evening is led by Flex Aleo, who guides guests through a curated wine tasting paired with a five-course menu curated by the Mango Bay chef specifically to complement the wines being poured. Rather than a traditional pairing dinner, Beyond the Pour is intentionally educational, inviting guests to understand why certain wines work with bold spice, heat, acidity, and layered Caribbean flavors.
The inaugural event on February 18 will highlight wines from African, Caribbean, and Black American producers, aligning with Black History Month and setting the tone for the series’ broader mission of expanding how global cuisines and voices are represented in the wine world.
